The Foraker Group is a unique Alaska organization with three major goals to help enhance Alaska's nonprofit sector. Our first goal is to build our state’s philanthropic infrastructure by helping nonprofit organizations function at capacity. We offer state-of-the-art education, training and support to strengthen the management and leadership skills of nonprofit professionals. And, we work with organizations around the state to develop more ways for Alaskans to give back to their communities through programs like workplace giving and lifetime or planned giving. There's helpful advice about starting a nonprofit in Alaska, and valuable suggestions about risk management and other appropriate worries for nonprofit leaders in any state, in James D.
