WHO WE ARE

The Start Center for Entrepreneurship is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that engages the health and growth of early stage startup ventures in urban and mixed income communities.  Our goal is to diversify the number of startup ventures in Omaha by cultivating early identification entrepreneurial talent in the challenged and mixed income communities of North Omaha. 

WHAT WE DO  

The Start Center for Entrepreneurship is a creative and innovative approach to long-term economic sustainability in underserved communities. Through a strategic onset of programs, classes, resources, mentoring opportunities, and more, The Start Center engages early stage startup businesses and entrepreneurial talent to build up strong entrepreneurial ecosystems in urban communities.

WHY WE DO IT  

We believe the most effective way to address the socioeconomic disadvantages of underserved communities is through the tool of entrepreneurship. This includes strategic innovation and a strong focus on developing talent. By doing this we even the playing field through job creation, launching healthy and sustainable businesses, and creating a thriving local economy that is self-sustained.

Our programs are results driven to ensure that entrepreneurs receive top tier training that will improve their chances of succeeding in business or make them a valuable asset to the workforce. The Start Center is a double win.

Purpose

We are a social impact organization empowering communities through innovation, entrepreneurship, and talent development. This organization is a member of the Nonprofit Association of the Midlands, www.nonprofitam.org.
