Certain large organizations file with their Form 990 with three implicit places for all the financial information. That is, when the listed value reads $1,000,000 (one million dollars) the actually value is $1,000,000,000 (one BILLION dollars). NCCS works to correct this problem by a few means:
-having a list of usual suspects,i.e. organizations that typically file in this way
-comparing the National Nonprofit data files with the SOI sample
-seeing how the information on Functional Expenses in Part II for compensation compares with the total compensation listed in Part V. This is because Part V data is frequently not shown in terms of thousands.

Kendall, I ran a few additional checks and found some thousands problems which I have fixed in the DWEB files using prgsscan housands-fix.sas. Documentation of procedure has been added to procedures guide.
There are a few additional orgs (MIT, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and USC that I didn't deal with since not FY2000 and resolution unclear.) Can you check these?

Comparison with SOI files to identify potential thousands problems
- Use pollakprgskeycompfin2.sas program to identify problem records
- Run listvars macro (e.g., %listvars(scan.revexp,N,M) to output list of numeric variables to incorporate into thousands-fix.sas (prgs/scan) and customize list of EINs and fiscal years in the program as needed.
