Dennis was first settled as a part of The Town of Yarmouth in 1639 by John Crowe, Anthony Thacher, and Thomas Howes and incorporated as its own entity in 1793. Dennis is one of Cape Cod's premier seaside resort towns Dennis is composed of five different villages: Dennis (02638), Dennis Port (02639), East Dennis (02641), West Dennis (02670), and South Dennis (02660).
