Issues & Initiatives

Welcome to the Northwest Louisiana Issues and Initiatives page. Click any button for more information on how Northwest Louisiana (Bossier, Caddo, DeSoto, and Webster Parishes) is addressing these seven broadly defined community issues and initiatives. These indicators of community well-being were identified by the Community Foundation of North Louisiana's Community Counts. Statistics and their original sources reported in the initiatives’ pages can be found in the 2016 Community Counts. In an effort to expand the regional impact and value of the Community Counts report in 2016, four additional communities from the north Louisiana region, the Monroe MSA (includes Ouachita and Union parishes), and three separate Louisiana Micropolitan Statistical Areas—Ruston (Lincoln Parish), Natchitoches (Natchitoches Parish), and Bastrop (Morehouse Parish) Bastrop, Natchitoches, and Ruston, were added.
