It’s NEW, and it’s the first of its kind. ShareNM.org is proud to introduce our Online Common Application for New Mexico nonprofits, a convenient way to upload your grant applications.

The new online common application process brings innovation to what is usually a labor-intensive process for nonprofits seeking grants in New Mexico. The Online Common Application eases the paperwork burden of nonprofits applying for grants and creates a centralized location for funders to post Requests for Proposals.

What is the Online Common Application?

The Online Common Application system is designed to simplify the grant application process. With the Online Common Application, the information required by funders only needs to be filled in once and updated annually.

Nonprofits in New Mexico are able to securely upload frequently requested documents, such as the IRS 990 form, audit reports and current financial statements for use with grant applications.

Funders will have the ability to customize questions for each grant application through the common application and will have the ability to view proposals online.

How Does the Online Common Application work?

First, you’ll need to add your New Mexico nonprofit to our Resource Directory. If your organization is already in ShareNM.org’s Resource Directory, now is a great time to update your profile.

Once you’ve added or updated your profile, you can visit our Grantmaking page and select ‘View Common Application Grants’. This will take you to the Online Common Application. For nonprofits, select ‘view available grants’. For funders, select ‘add a grant’.

If you’re a nonprofit, you’ll be taken to a list of available grants and a calendar featuring each grant’s cycle. If you see a grant in which you’re interested, select it for more information about the grant. At this point, you can select ‘Apply Now’ to apply for the grant or ‘Close’ to continue your search.

If you’re a funder, selecting ‘add a grant’ will take you to your personalized ‘Manage My Grants’ page. Simply select ‘Create New Grant’ and your grant will be available for thousands of New Mexico nonprofits to view.
